If you’re having issues in your business, chances are they can be traced back to just one single bottleneck.

Why?

Usually what happens is all of the problems in your business are symptoms of one core issue.

So try to find that one bottleneck and fix that first.

The next logical question is…

The bottle neck and your problems will go away, right?

Well not quite…

A new bottleneck will appear for you to solve.

And so the process continues.

But be careful:

Sometimes you’ll point to the wrong problem and try to fix that.

And as hard as you may try, you won’t solve the problem and you don’t know why.

I give you an example.

We had a client and their sales figures were down.

They were desperately trying to “fix” their marketing.

But when we looked at it objectively, we found that the issue was not that their marketing was wrong but that their sales staff were overworked and tied up with administrivial tasks.

They didn’t have enough time to talk to new prospects and close more deals.

So at the end of the day, they weren’t able to close more sales.

If they continued down that path and tried to change the marketing over and over again to solve the problem, they’d never get there and eventually they’d go out of business.

How this applies to you:

Be very careful when it comes to your business to figure out what’s that single core issue that’s causing everything else to not function properly.

And be very sure if that is the right thing to fix or not.
